Check Out These Movies!

Watching a movie is great way to grasp the whole issue, because reading about human trafficking can be hard to picture in your mind, and quite overwhelming. But all of these movies show well drawn out scenarios of what actually happens to victims while keeping your attention the entire time. But a word of caution, because these movies contain graphic material, you should ask an adult before viewing them.

Trade
Trade is the BEST movie on human trafficking yet. It is action-packed and extremely informative. The cinematography is brilliant and it has a compelling storyline following a diverse cast through their journey in and out of human trafficking. I highly recommend this film to anyone looking for a gripping movie that is thrilling and yet very effective. But keep in mind, this movie is rated R.

Branded
Branded is a feature length documentary that explores the dehumanizing realities of prostitution and the devastating effects it is having on the lives, neighborhoods, and communities of Phoenix, AZ. The film also highlights the courageous work being done by the Phoenix Police Department, the Phoenix Police Department VICE Unit, the Sex Crimes Bureau, Dignity House, various non-profits, and members of the government to combat this social injustice. Branded exists to inform and motivate individuals to tangible, purposeful social action against the sex slave trade of children and to honor the victims of those caught up in the terrible wake of this living nightmare.

Your Questions & Comments about
"Check Out These Movies!"

Most Recent:

Q: You should add Human Trafficking to your list of movies. It stars Mira Sorvino and Donald Sutherland.
A: Thanks for the suggestion. I originally had that series in the movies section, but I removed it after speaking with some human trafficking survivors and they said that they did not like it. I reviewed the trailers and it seemed too graphic for teens. Sometimes when a movie shows too much, it loses its impact.
